Las Vegas Tips from Delta Vacations Employees

Las Vegas Tips

We are wrapping up Vegas Week at Delta Vacations and you have shared with us some of your best Las Vegas secrets or tips and we want to share some of ours. The joy of working for a travel company is always getting travel advice when you need it, so I hope you can use these tips next time you are in Las Vegas:

“One of our other favorite places to go is Carnaval Court. Not sure if this is a secret, but it’s a round bar outside Harrah’s where they do all the showy, bottle-spinning bartending tricks. Live music, contests, etc.” – Jen

“Many hotels have rental cars right onsite so you can take a 1/2 or full day trip to see the Grand Canyon” – Libby

“Save your room number somewhere (in your phone, purse, etc.). With how big the hotels are it can be confusing where your room is and after a few cocktails it can be tricky to try to remember!” – Katie

“Something I did not know before I went, is that there is a season when some pools are open and closed. I thought this was really good to know before I booked, and got there and found out the pools were closed!” – Kathy

“Remember you can get drinks at the gift shops (save a few $ then purchasing at a restaurant)” – Libby

“Just because you think the hotel looks close, don’t think it is. Just keep that in mind and save your feet for going out at night!” – Missy

“Bring comfortable walking shoes! Sure you can look stylish in those fancy designer shoes but you don’t want to have to walk barefoot out on the strip and get Vegas Feet…just ask my wife!” – Sean

“Great country music and dancing at Gillies at TI. Jeff Foxworthy and other performers that are at TI have been known to make surprise appearances” – Libby

“If you are in Vegas with a group of friends and want to go clubbing, consider all chipping in for table service, you get drinks and great service and a place to sit for your group for a fixed rate. When in doubt, ask your concierge about rates/cover and how to reserve.” – Deron

“Make sure to check out all the free attractions along the strip – Volcano at Mirage, Fountain Show at Bellagio, Botanical Garden at Bellagio, Shopping Malls like Forum Shoppes at Caesars, Venetian Shopping Mall and Miracle Mile” – Katie

“Garth Brooks at the Wynn is worth every penny. Garth plays his acoustic guitar and tells the story of his life intertwined with his favorite songs by other performers. He never took a break and people were honestly running to go to the bathroom because they did not want to miss a minute. Country fan or not, that man can put on a show! (by the way, tickets can be purchased at wynnlasvegas.com though be patient bc it can take awhile).” – Libby

“Downtown Vegas/Fremont street is a must-see. No glamour, no glitz but cool, old casinos and cheap food & drink.” – Marty

“Check to see what bars offer happy hours. This can save you some serious money!” – Katie

“Take the buffet challenge: 6 buffets, 24 hours $44.99- http://www.harrahs.com/total/las-vegas/buffet-of-buffets/” – Marty

“If you don’t want to have a maze of a casino to go through to get to your room, stay at Vadara. No casino, but steps from Monte Carlo, Bellagio, and Aria. Quiet but close to the action when you want it.” – Deron

“Don’t forget about the monorail. Really and easy and cheap way to get around” – Missy

“Bring along cash from home before you head to Vegas. It will make it easier when you need it and cheaper as most ATM’s charge fees.” – Katie

“Just link in NY, Las Vegas also have 1/2 priced ticket opportunities for day of performances – Tix 4 Tonight. I know of at least 3 locations on the strip and there are probably more (Fashion Show Mall, Next to Coke World, and in the Hawaiian Marketplace). Keep in mind that you buy a voucher for the show at 1/2 ticket place and then you need to go to the actual box office to get your real tickets – leave yourself enough time. http://www.tix4tonight.com/” – Missy

“Rental cars can be really cheap in Vegas and all the casinos/hotels have free parking. I like renting a car rather than taking taxis, plus then you can drive through In-N-Out on your way back to the airport.” – Marty

“Make sure to keep your eyes open! You never know what celebrities you may run into or when you’ll be entertained by some good old fashioned people watching. ” – Katie

“Use your hotel concierge, they can get reservations, recommend restaurants and even get you priority into nightclubs and help with show tickets etc.” – Deron
