Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall Review

Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall Review

I recently went down to Montego Bay, Jamaica for a vacation and we couldn’t have picked a better resort. We stayed at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall, which is an adults only, all-inclusive resort, all butler service resort. I took a lot of pictures (see all my photos on flickr) and some video so that you can take an inside look at the resort through the eyes of a vacation traveler.

Rooms
The rooms were immaculate along with the grounds of the hotel. I stayed in room 5332 which is an Ocean-view suite. As you can see above, our view was amazing! It overlooked the pool area and over the ocean, can you ask for a better view than that?! They also have oceanfront rooms and garden/pool view rooms as well. The balcony was the biggest balcony I’ve had yet in the Caribbean or even in Mexico for that matter. It had a couch, love seat, a ceiling fan and very cool wooden floor. Plus, you felt total privacy sitting out there and didn’t feel like your neighbors were looking in. I’m not going to talk much about the rooms because the video below showcases the room.

Service
I thought the service was amazing and my wife agreed as well. All the rooms have butlers assigned to them and there is a concierge on every floor to help you out whenever you need anything. The butlers found out that it was our wedding anniversary and they made us feel very special and gave us few little surprises of champagne and roses. We found that ALL of the employees (from Butlers to Security) were all VERY friendly and fun to talk to. If you have stayed at an Iberostar Resort you know of their Star Friends (these are employees who are there to entertain), and all of them here were so much fun. Frosted Flakes, T.O., Samantha, G-Money were some of our favorites. You’ll have to try the magic carpet run across the pool when you go there! When you are at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall, I have no doubt that you will feel like a VIP because of the way you are treated and served! Thank you to our butlers Marvin, Darwin and Randy…you guys are the best!

Pools
The pools at the Iberostar Grand were so beautiful! I thought they did a fantastic job with the layout of these and it’s something I haven’t seen anywhere else. They have 4 infinity pools that are in a line from the back of the resort down towards the beach and they all drop off so it looks like they are flowing into each other (actually two of them do connect)! It made for such a gorgeous setting! In the last pool that is overlooking the beach, they have a great pool bar with a TV. I should’ve taken a picture because on Sunday all the men were sitting at the bar watching the NFL games and all their wives were on rafts floating in the pool…which just goes to show you that this resort is perfect for anyone!

The Beach
Just like everything else we were very thrilled with the beach. They have a huge stretch of beach that goes into the neighboring Iberostar properties (which you have access to staying at the Grand but they do not have access to your hotel). There were a ton of chairs to choose from and plenty of palapas as well. The best part about the beach chairs were that they are on wheels so you can easily move them to find the sun or to move them down close to the water. Our favorite part of the beach was probably the beach beds. They had about 10 beds on the beach and a lot more up around the pool area and they were soooo comfortable. It was hard not to fall asleep on those with the warm sun beating down on you, the sound of the ocean and complete relaxation. The water was so much fun to be in because it was very warm and there were only a handful of rocks on the bottom and the rest was just sand bottom. The roped off swimming was enormous! I’ve been to places that felt like you were on top of the other person while swimming but you had so much room. We loved the fact that you could get rafts to float on from the towel hut and they were free! At one point I think we were the only ones in the ocean (or at least it felt like it) floating on the rafts and listening to the live reggae and steel drum band playing…we really felt like we were in paradise!

Food
We thought overall the food was very good! There were 6 restaurants (2 buffet, 4 a la carte) and 24 hour room service. We ate at Cornwall twice for breakfast (buffet) and loved the omelets and the mini donuts. We also ordered breakfast room service one morning and ate on the balcony which was also very good. We ate Port Maria for lunch each day (buffet/snack) where you could get grilled food, pizza, nachos, etc…it was nothing special but it tasted good. We usually ate a large breakfast then a smaller late lunch and went to one of the a la carte restaurants for dinner. We thought the restaurants were amazing! Our favorite was probably the Teppanyaki restaurant where I got way too much food but it was so worth it (chicken, beef, shrimp and lobster!). We also ate at the Italian restaurant and the surf and turf restaurant. At the Italian restaurant I can highly recommend the caprese salad, red snapper with beer crust and the lobster lasagna. At the surf and turf we had the filet and lobster, is there really any other way to go at a surf and turf?! My wife said that was the best steak she’s ever had. Wow, now my mouth is watering thinking about all the great food we had there! (must be lunch time!)

Breakfast room service

We LOVED everything about this resort and we can’t wait to return! I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone and I have no doubt you will enjoy your stay as much as we did! Thank you Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall!

P.S. I will be posting about my departure out of the Montego Bay Airport and staying in the new Club MoBay departure lounge!

*My stay was comped by the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall but all opinions are my own and honest.
