Most Romantic Hotels in the World

Since it’s Valentine’s Day I thought I’d share with you my top 5 romantic hotels in the world, plus it gives some gift ideas to the procrastinating men out there (like myself)! It was very hard to narrow the list down to five because there are so many beautiful resorts but these can’t be beat! All of these resorts are all-inclusive, adults only and have world class spas which adds to the romance and serenity of vacation.

Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancún, Riviera Maya – Mexico
This resort is a favorite among my wife and I! From the moment you walk into all the stress of life just melts away and you are in paradise. The décor is very modern with bright whites and bold colors with large windows looking out over the pools and ocean. I don’t think I’ve been to a place where the colors popped as much as this resort since the building exterior is white mixed with the blues from the 43,000 sq. feet of pools, the greens from the beautiful grounds and of course the bright blue from the ocean.

I don’t know about you but when I think of romance I always think of a good meal and the food at Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancún was fantastic! They have 8 restaurants to choose from and we had some of the best gourmet food at this resort that I’ve had in my life! Plus, the chicken wings were amazing…okay so chicken wings aren’t romantic but they sure were gooooood!

Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa and Beach Resort, St. Lucia
When I think of Sandals Resorts I automatically think Romance. They have perfected the couples/adults-only vacation and the Grande St. Lucian is no exception to that. Many people have St. Lucia on their must visit list in their lifetime and I think if you do go you’ve got to go to the Sandals Grande St. Lucian! What makes this resort unique is that it is the ONLY resort in St. Lucia that is nestled in between the ocean on both sides. So no matter where you are the ocean is right there.

If you are staying at a Sandals you’ve got to try the Red Lane® Spa. You’ve got to try the couples message which will relax every bone in your body! Sandals have some of the best spa treatments you’ll find and to top it off you are surrounded by the Caribbean and mountain views…it doesn’t get much better than that. You will truly feel like you are in a postcard while you are here.

Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana, Punta Cana – Dominican Republic
When I think of romantic hotels this one immediately comes to mind! It is on the eastern coastline of the Dominican Republic in Punta Cana. Punta Cana is quickly becoming one the best beach destinations in the whole world and I can’t argue with that. This is a smaller resort with 175 rooms so you get the intimate feeling while you are here. Just like the Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancún, the grounds are beautiful! The architecture is stunning and you feel like you are somewhere off the Mediterranean without having to travel that far. The gardens, pool area and beach areas are some of the finest I have ever seen. The attention to detail at this resort makes it a luxury property that you must see. I have talked with many people who view this hotel as their favorite resort! To cap off a perfect romantic evening, have some coconut ice cream while sitting outside at the steakhouse, it’s just perfect! There aren’t enough words to describe the beauty of this resort!

The ROYAL Playa del Carmen, Playa del Carmen – Mexico
The location of the ROYAL Playa del Carmen can’t be beat! You are right in the heart of the quaint downtown Playa del Carmen, but yet you are right on the beach so you get the best of both worlds. The rooms views are great here, overlooking the whole resort and into the water. The room I have seen had a Jacuzzi tub inside with that beautiful view that makes Mexico such a perfect place to vacation.

The service here is what really makes this place spectacular. The staff will go above and beyond to help make your vacation as wonderful as possible. I would be doing this resort an injustice if I didn’t mention the food here. Again, this is gourmet food at its finest and it’s already included in your price since the resort is all-inclusive, which means eat all you want! They have more traditional food along with a good fusion of unique tastes. I would encourage you to go to Pelicanos daily for either breakfast, lunch or dinner –not only is the food delicious, but you are right off the beach. You can’t get more romantic than sitting right off the beach watching the sun or moon shimmer off of the Caribbean Sea!

Couples Swept Away, Negril – Jamaica
I don’t think I have to do much more than just give you the name of this resort “Couples Swept Away”, that just sounds like the best romantic getaway and it might be! This is placed on one of the nicest stretches of beach in the Caribbean…honestly, it is breathtaking. The food here is delicious and I wouldn’t have expected anything less from resort because of how excellent every detail is here. If you like Thai food you should make reservations at Lemongrass!

Again, this is more intimate setting for a resort so you aren’t overwhelmed with the size which makes it feel like your own little island getaway. While you are in Jamaica you truly are on “Island Time” where the minutes seem like hours because you are so relaxed.
