I Miss Cancun

This is a post from Susie Shubert (one of our readers), who misses Cancun after 16-20 inches of snow fell on the Twin Cities this weekend…I miss Cancun too, Susie!

Here’s a photo of my husband after the ‘Snowmageddon’ here in Minneapolis over the weekend—I think he shoveled/snowblowed over 5 times! It sure is beautiful and I love seeing the snow at Christmas-time, but it also makes me remember how around this time last year we were actually at the Secrets Capri resort outside of Cancun in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. I have to admit….I’d rather be there!!

If you are ever thinking of traveling down that way I would highly suggest the Secrets Capri. Believe it or not this northern girl had never run away to some place warm in the winter and this place was what anyone would dream of as the perfect Cancun vacation spot. The beach was beautiful, the service was amazing and the food was great. We still dream about the best-ever fish tacos that we had right on the beach.

Honestly, all-inclusive vacations are definitely the way to go. It seems like you are plopping down a lot of dough but then when you think about what you are getting for the money–especially at a place like Secrets–it’s all worth it. There were many different restaurants to choose from, one night we actually ate dinner at one and dessert at another! Of course the drinks are all on the house, and the best joke is sitting around with people you just met and offering to buy everyone there a drink. We felt very pampered when we were there, anything we asked for was answered with, “That would be my pleasure.”

I really hope that my husband and I can make it back there one of these days…especially now that I’m seeing tomorrow’s temperature will only be a high of 6 degrees!
