Sandals Whitehouse Spa Resort

My husband is a CPA and prepares taxes for clients at a large public accounting firm. Needless to say, during tax time he’s working long-hours and we rarely get to spend any time together, so we started a new travel tradition. At the end of every tax season (April 15th and October 15th) we take a trip somewhere to relax and reconnect.

Our most recent adventure was to the all-inclusive Sandals Whitehouse Spa Resort on the South Coast of Jamaica in Negril. It was a quick flight down to Jamaica and the trek from the airport in Montego Bay to the resort took about an hour, but once we arrived it was like we had discovered a hidden paradise.

The resort sits on 500 acres of a nature preserve, and has two beaches spanning over two miles, so we felt like it was a secluded and private island just for us! The best part about the resort was that all of the rooms and suites feature direct ocean views and we even opted for the ultimate in personal pampering: butler service and 24-hour room service.

With seven gourmet restaurants to choose from, we dined in a different place each night without ever leaving the resort. The food was amazing! They even had a little French patisserie where anytime of the day and late into the night you could get cakes, cookies, crepes, tarts, basically anything to satisfy our sweet-tooth after a hearty meal.

While we enjoyed sitting by the pool with a beer or a cocktail and picking up the bright orange starfish that speckle the beach, we found there were more activities and watersports than we could possibly imagine – sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing, water trikes, and scuba diving, just to name a few.

We had a fun and relaxing post-busy-season trip to Jamaica, and we learned that an all-inclusive resort is really the way to go if you want a stress-free trip without a set schedule.
